What can I learn from this? (outcomes) 

By completing this activity, the girls will be able to: 

  • Identify all costs related to the business 

  • Identify all revenues related to the business 

  • Set up a simple, basic accounting sheet as start of the business 


How can I do this activity? Steps 

  1. Accounting Toolkit activity: read the activity thoroughly. Make sure you have all relevant data that is needed to fill the excel sheet 

  2. Excel sheet: fill in as much of excel sheet as you can based on the information you have on hand 

  3. Exercise: complete the exercise on the excel sheet. 

  4. Reflection: reflect on the conclusions of your excel sheet. 


Reflection tips 

What is difficult for me to understand? How did I find filling in the excel sheet? How can I make it easier for me to understand?


Exercise:

Your business is printing shirts. You will receive invoices for purchases on behalf of your website, your office and for the purchases of good like coffee and products needed to keep the printers running.


You also send invoices and these are paid to you.


Place the given invoices in the enclosed Excel file and make sure they are placed well and your calculate with the correct BTW/VAT percentage.
