2nd Activity of the Project in Valencia, Spain

The second activity of the Know Your Carbon Footprint project took place from 24-28 November in Valencia, Spain.

During this week, we carried out different activities related to carbon footprint reduction and awareness raising among school students.

During the first day of the programme, we visited the social innovation centre Las Naves, where we had the opportunity to learn about the Missions 2030 project, allied to the SDGs.

On Tuesday, we visited the City of Arts and Sciences, where we visited the Príncipe Felipe Museum and the exhibitions related to sustainability. We also watched a documentary on the Amazon and its biodiversity at the Hemisferic, and had lunch at the CaixaForum in the restaurant run by the special employment centre Novaterra Catering.

On Wednesday we visited the Observatori del Canvi Climatic and the Oficina de l'Energia, where we learned some tips to reduce our carbon footprint and some activities to do with students.

On Thursday we visited the environmental education centre Racó de l'Olla and got to know l'Albufera by taking a boat trip. The programme ended on Friday with a guided tour of the city of Valencia to learn about the sustainability measures it is implementing.

It was a really special visit, given that that same week, Valencia was named as the green capital of the European Union for 2024!
